Baby mouflon at Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Cyprus
epa08364454 A keeper at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center feeds a baby mouflon found injured a month ago, Nicosia, Cyprus, 15 April 2020. It was transferred to the Center where it will remain for a period of approximately six months until it gets strong enough to be taken to its habitat. Though they usually don't name animals they rescue, the service said they decided to give the baby mouflon the symbolic name Elpida, which means hope. The Cyprus mouflon is unique to the island of Cyprus and was found only within the mountains state forest of Paphos. Today there are around 3,500 mouflons on the island. EPA/KATIA CHRISTODOULOU
