South Korea’s largest internet portal service provider Naver Corp. said Monday it will launch 24-hour live-stream audio service, dubbed NOW, on the first page of its mobile site to raise its competitiveness.

Users can have easier access to the service by touching the NOW logo on the right side of weather on the first page, and various contents like K-pop music and entertainment programs will become available, according to Naver.

Markets expect the synergy with Naver’s AI-based music platform Vibe as the NOW streaming service could give tailored contents and streaming channel recommendations to each user based on previous data accumulated by Vibe.

Naver also is planning to add more convenient features by linking the services in response to customers’ feedback and collected data.

Streaming playlists will be revealed on the Vibe app, and users’ preference for music on streaming will also be reflected to the recommendations by Vibe, it added. Live chat service between users and streaming hosts are under development, together with the alarm service for favorite channels.

“The NOW streaming service allows users to multitask on Naver while listening to live-stream contents. Naver based on the service will keep up efforts to bolster audio and video contents services,” said an official at Naver.
