Shinhan Bank rolls out rewards to celebrate 10 million users of its mobile app SOL

South Korea’s Shinhan Bank said on Monday that the number of subscribers to its mobile app SOL has topped 10 million and launched special savings product to celebrate the milestone.

Shinhan Bank combined six of its existing mobile platforms such as S Bank and Sunny Bank to launch integrated app SOL in February, 2018. The new mobile app has introduced a new financial lifestyle platform by providing customer-friendly user interface and services in diverse sectors such as SOL Baseball, SOL Class, and SOL Pay.

Shinhan Bank will offer savings support funds to 200 customers that subscribe to any installment savings via SOL on a first-come first-serve basis. The funds will be offered every day until September 10. The bank will also provide interest support funds to 100 customers that apply for new loans via the mobile platform.

Shinhan Bank had also launched a pre-event on August 7 that offers up to 10 million won in prize based on points achieved for activities on the mobile platform together with families and friends. Shinhan Bank said that more than 100,000 SOL users have participated in the event as of last Friday.

According to a recent analysis by mobile big data platform IGA Works, the number of monthly active users on Shinhan Bank’s SOL reached 5.16 million as of July, becoming the fourth-most visited mobile platform after Kakaobank with 6.1 million, KB Kookmin Bank with 5.9 million, and NH Smart Banking with 5.7 million.

Meanwhile, last week, Shinhan Financial Group’s financial platform, Shinhan Plus, was recognized by Germany’s prestigious Red Dot Design Award, one of world’s three major design awards, for the first time as a mobile financial platform in Korea, as well as United States’ International Design Excellence Award (IDEA). The financial platform received an award from Red Dot Design for platform design and customer experience and digital interaction from IDEA.
