Wide-scale experiment on domestication of silver foxes

Aggressive-cowardly behavior is characteristic of the foxes beeing bred at fur farms. The experiment of Russian researchers, which was launched in 1959, was aimed at repetition of an early stage of evolution, namely, transformation of a wolf into a dog. Foxes were chosen for participating in the experiment as an alternative to wolves to prove the hypothesis that change of behavior changes shape. Tamed foxes, docile, with shorter muzzle, curly tails, the color, characteristic of pets, with white spots, a star on a forehead, resemble dogs more and more.
