South Korea’s electronics giant LG Electronics Inc. expects voice-activated organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TVs will help to boost the share of the premium sets against total TV sales to 20 percent.

The company said on Sunday it would roll out its new OLED TV series fitted with its artificial intelligence platform DeepThinQ in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia starting Monday. The DeepThinQ is LG Electronics’ AI platform readying to deploy on smart products.

With the release of the OLED TV AI ThinQ, the company pledged to up its OLED TV sales to 20 percent of its total TV sales this year from last year’s 15 percent on its expectation that global demand for OLED TVs would expand to 2.5 million units in 2018 from 1.6 million a year ago.

Separately, LG Electronics forecast that the operating profit of its TV division for 2018 would grow 19.2 percent on year to 1.87 trillion won on sales of 18.96 trillion won, which is up 1.5 percent over the same period.

To promote the new AI-enhanced OLED TVs, LG Electronics has set up OLED TV experience zones in 500 stores of U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy to allow consumers to experience its new Alpha 9 processor powering the new TV. The Alpha 9 processor has a four-step noise reduction process to provide the clearest image with more vivid colors, according to the company.

The new OLED TV backed by the artificial intelligence and natural language detection features also allows users to change the display mode, shift channels and control volumes with voice commends through the TV’s remote control, the company explained.

The company will organize separate local events to promote its new OLED TV series in Poland, Italy, Austria and Colombia.
