Local IT service provider LG CNS will open its new office at the FKI Tower in Yeouido on Dec. 16 to mark the beginning of a new era, the company said Sunday.

FKI Tower will be the new home for up to 40 percent of LG CNS' 10,000―strong global workforce.

"Going global and becoming smarter will be our top goals this year as we move into the new office," said Kim Dae-hoon, chief executive of LG CNS. "Optimized for a smarter work style, the new Yeouido office will bolster our efforts to become a leading global IT service operator."

Previously, LG CNS had operated from Hoehyun-dong in downtown Seoul.

In 2010, the company announced its long-term vision of leading the smart generation.

For stronger global networking solutions, LG CNS has adopted a number of technologies to create a smarter working environment at Yeouido, including a unified communication portal, cloud printing and automatic seating management.

With the unified communication portal, LG CNS workers can instantly call or exchange messages online with overseas offices at the click of a mouse, cutting down on phone bills and making communicating with colleagues easier.

Conference calls have also become quicker and easier, since all conference rooms in the new LG CNS location are equipped to instantly connect to overseas offices and customers.

Further, thanks to a cloud printing solution, LG CNS workers can print out their documents from any LG CNS business facility after providing identification.

Last but not least, the new office is equipped with over 200 smart office cubicles that employees may reserve so they no longer have to wait for empty seats. This system is expected to enhance work efficiency since the majority of LG CNS staff work out of the office.

Resting areas, child care centers and de-stressing facilities are also part of the new Yeouido office, LG CNS said.
