Samsung Apps Opens Services for 109 Countries

Samsung Electronics' mobile application store, 'Samsung Apps' has opened its services for 109 countries around the world after a year of preparation.
The company announced on Monday it is going to provide services for 109 countries, adding nine more countries such as Iceland, Costa Rica and Sudan to initially planned 100 countries. Samsung Apps was first launched in the United Kingdom, France and Germany a year ago. Samsung Electronics has been preparing for expansion of the application store service with the international debut of the Wave phone in June.
Samsung Apps for Bada OS achieved more than 10 million downloads in accumulation in late August, only three months after its launch. As of September, the number of downloads posted 14 million. Meanwhile, application downloads for Android OS recorded 5.3 million as of early September, backed by the storm of Galaxy S.
Samsung Apps provides differentiated applications that are customized to users' lifestyles and classified into a variety of categories. It also offers contents specialized for each country.
Samsung Electronics is also planning to open Facebook and Twitter plugin links that are connected with the Samsung Apps homepage.
