Ten years ago yesterday, Lee Se-dol faced the artificial intelligence program AlphaGo in what was called the match of the century. Now, a decade later, he has once again stood before AI.
This time, he worked with an AI agent to create a Go app and demonstrate a match.

In 2016, a baduk match was held between AlphaGo and master Lee Se-dol amid expectations that the human mind would be superior to artificial intelligence at least in baduk.

Lee lost 1-4 to AlphaGo. But his dramatic win in Game 4 was recorded as the sole victory a human baduk player secured against AI.

This is one victory that will be unchanged and priceless.

Lee Se-dol again faced off with AI at the same venue where the historic match was held a decade ago.

This time, he participated in building a baduk app on the spot while communicating with an AI agent created by a start-up.

Built in 30 minutes, the baduk app pressures Lee to lead the test match.

Its speed and performance are incomparably superior to AlphaGo from a decade ago. And the test was over in five minutes.

Developers say that a match between AI and humans is no longer meaningful, as roles are divided and multiple AI programs that are stronger than before take on each of the tasks.

AlphaGo was created for Baduk. Now, AI programs play like humans and organized systems in all directions.

A decade has passed since the emergence of AlphaGo.

Lee Se-dol stresses that now is the time to think about co-existence with AI.

Global IT giants like NVIDIA, Microsoft and Anthropic took part in the event as official sponsors, expressing profound interest in an AI agent developed with Korean technology.
