[News Today] Police rams truck to prevent accident

Police were forced to deliberately ram a moving truck after its driver lost consciousness, averting a potentially major accident.

A quick-thinking citizen spotted something wrong and alerted authorities, while police moved in to stop the vehicle.

Here are the details.

A one-ton truck changes lanes without using its turn signal.

The truck is precariously weaving in and out as if it is about to ram into the guardrail.

A paramedic inside the ambulance driving behind the truck thought something was wrong and reported the truck to the police.

The left side mirror was broken.
It was also hitting the guardrail.

The ambulance drove behind the truck which was crawling at only ten kilometers per hour and kept other vehicles from approaching for ten minutes.

When the police arrived, they found the truck driver unconscious.

A police officer opened the passenger side door and attempted to get on the truck.

But the driver unconsciously stepped on the gas pedal and the truck began to speed up again.

The officers had to ram the truck with the police car to prevent a bigger accident.

The driver regained consciousness only after the police officers broke the window.

The truck driver in his fifties was on his way to a hospital after work when he lost consciousness from hypoglycemic shock.

One citizen's report, calm response, and the police officers' quick thinking together were able to prevent a big accident.
