Seoul City Council member Kim Kyung underwent nearly 17 hours of police questioning as a key suspect in the alleged 100-million-won nomination donation case.

While Rep. Kang Sun-woo is set to undergo her first police questioning on Tuesday, testimonies from key figures are sharply conflicting.

Seoul City Council member Kim Kyung has appeared for police questioning for the third time.

She was questioned for nearly 17 hours as a key figure in the nomination donation allegation.

The former aide of Rep. Kang Sun-woo, another key figure in the allegation, also appeared for questioning on Sunday.

The two are providing conflicting testimonies as to whether they were together when the nomination payment was delivered.

Some expected cross-examination over conflicting testimonies, but it did not take place.

Kim claims she personally gave the nomination payment to Kang, and that her former aide was also at the scene.

She also reportedly told police that it was Kang's former aide who suggested she pay 100 million won for nomination.

By contrast, Kang's former aide says he never demanded any money from Kim, and that he was unaware of the transaction because it took place while he was away.

Kang claims she learned about the payment later.

Police are trying to determine how the 100-million-won payment was delivered and establish the exact circumstances.

Kang is set to undergo her first police questioning on Tuesday.
