The second season of “Culinary Class Wars,” a South Korean cooking competition show, has ranked as the most-watched non-English show worldwide on global subscription streaming service Netflix one week after its release.

According to Netflix’s official website Tudum on Wednesday, “Culinary Class Wars 2” recorded 5.5 million views last week, a metric calculated by dividing total viewing time by the program’s runtime, topping the non-English TV show chart.

By country, the series ranked No. 1 in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, and made the top 10 in various regions, including Qatar and Indonesia, mainly across the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Culinary Class Wars is a survival entertainment program in which renowned star chefs, dubbed White Spoons, face off against lesser-known but highly skilled chefs known as Black Spoons in head-to-head cooking battles.

Given that Season 1 became the first Korean variety show to top Netflix‘s global non-English TV chart for three consecutive weeks last year, all eyes are on whether Season 2 will be able to sustain the momentum.

Other Korean titles were also popular.

The SBS drama, “Dynamite Kiss,” starring actress Ahn Eun-jin, ranked fourth, while “The Price of Confession,” featuring actresses Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun, placed seventh.

Korean content also claimed the top spot in the non-English-language film category.

The Netflix original movie, “The Great Flood,” starring Kim Da-mi, ranked first with 27.9 million views.
