As we just saw with deepfake gambling ads, AI-generated videos are becoming harder to detect and far more dangerous.

Now, fake doctor ads created with the same technology are spreading across social media. The government is moving to tighten regulations to protect public health.

This man introduces himself as a urologist who graduated from a prestigious university.

In a YouTube advertisement, he recommends a nutritional supplement for prostatomegaly.

I hear it significantly helped ease urination troubles all the time.

In another video, a self-claimed dentist pretends to be appearing in a TV program and advertises an oral probiotics product for bad breath treatment, saying that he himself uses it as well.

Frankly, those in my profession say that it would be foolish not to take this.

All of them are AI-generated fake individuals.

By November, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety uncovered a total of 93 illegal medical ads created using AI.

These ads are criticized for misleading and encouraging people to take inappropriate medicines or nutritional supplements.

The government has announced measures to regulate ads featuring AI generated fake doctors in response to a series of complaints about the lack of related rules.

A complete ban will be placed on advertisements promoting specific products recommended by AI-generated doctors or pharmacists.

All AI-generated videos will be required to label themselves as AI-made content.

The deliberation process will be streamlined in order to quickly block such ads.

The government plans to complete the revision of related laws by the first half of next year. But critics say that regulation lags behind the rapid pace of AI advancements.
