Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn marked the Hanwha Eagles’ runner-up finish in the 2025 Korean Series by gifting orange-colored smartphones, the team’s signature hue, to 60 players and staff members, the company said Wednesday.

Along with the gifts, Kim sent a congratulatory message on Tuesday, saying, “I sincerely congratulate the team on finishing second in the Korean Series and applaud the players for giving their all until the very end.”

The orange color — also representing Hanwha Group — symbolizes the team’s spirit of unwavering passion and collective teamwork, the company explained.

Throughout the regular season, Kim frequently delivered motivational gifts to players and personally sent a letter to manager Kim Kyung-moon when he achieved his 1,000th career KBO win. He also earned the nickname “romantic owner” for visiting stadiums nine times last year and six times this year to cheer alongside fans.

The Hanwha Eagles finished second in the 2025 KBO regular season, reaching the postseason for the first time in seven years and advancing to the Korean Series for the first time in 19 years, where they fell short against the LG Twins.

Team captain Chae Eun-seong vowed to go further next year, saying, “We will challenge for the championship in the next season.”
