[News Today] NVIDIA CEO holds ‘Chicken, Beer meeting’

One of the most talked-about figures at this year's APEC is NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

He kicked off his schedule not with a speech, but with chicken and beer alongside Samsung and Hyundai's top leaders.

He also made a surprise announcement regarding a massive AI chip supply deal with the Korean government and major firms.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, in his first visit to South Korea in 15 years, visited a fried chicken restaurant in Seoul.

Throngs of crowds gathered even before his arrival.

I love fried chicken and I love beer and I love fried chicken and beer with my friends.

He met with Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group executive chair Chung Eui-sun and exchanged greetings.

He also gifted them NVIDIA’s latest AI supercomputer.

Huang, who is known to have personally proposed the chicken and beer meeting, also warmly greeted reporters and citizens by handing out chicken to them as well.

Samsung chair Lee called it a wonderful day and said that eating good food with good people makes him happy.

Hyundai Motor chair Chung also expressed gratitude and hoped for continued favorable South Korea-U.S. relations.

The NVIDIA chief also hinted at new developments related to business cooperation with Korean firms.

Korea and NVIDIA have many announcements, and I have many incredible partners here.

The surprise announcement was about a massive AI chip supply deal.

NVIDIA revealed plans to provide around 260,000 units of its cutting-edge Blackwell GPUs to the South Korean government, Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor, and Naver to support their artificial intelligence developments.

The company explained that Samsung, SK, and Hyundai Motor will use these GPUs in building AI factories that implement AI technologies in various production sites.
