Samsung Electronics’ medical device division and Samsung Medison announced on Friday that they will showcase their latest medical imaging solutions at the 2025 European Congress of Radiology (ECR), held in Vienna, Austria, from February 26th to March 2nd, 2025.

As Europe’s largest medical imaging conference and exhibition, the 2025 ECR is themed “Planet Radiology” and focuses on the impact of radiology on society.

Samsung will operate an expanded exhibition booth, more than 10 percent larger than its 2024 product, which highlights its specialized diagnostic solutions, eco-friendly technology efforts, and innovations in medical imaging.

In the “Pediatric Integrated Solutions Zone,” the company will introduce child-friendly ultrasound devices, a miniature probe designed for pediatric care, and a mobile CT system that enhances diagnostic accessibility for young patients with limited mobility.

The X-ray zone will feature Samsung’s latest fixed X-ray system, the GF85, making its European debut following its launch in late 2024. Other flagship X-ray products, including the GC85A, GM85 mobile model, and Samsung’s glass-free detector, will also be on display.

Samsung will also showcase the OmniTom Elite PCD, a CT scanner using photon-counting detector (PCD) technology that delivers higher resolution and reduced noise compared to conventional scintillator-based CT systems.

The company will also present its carbon reduction initiatives, demonstrating energy efficiency strategies using the S-Hub feature, which enables remote control of multiple ultrasound devices for optimized power management.

Yu Kyu-tae, CEO of Samsung Medison and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Medical Device Division, said, “Samsung is committed to developing specialized medical imaging solutions that enhance global healthcare while continuously exploring carbon reduction technologies to contribute to environmental sustainability.”
