LG Uplus unveils new, AI-made ad slogan

LG Uplus announced on Friday that it will unveil its new ad campaign slogan, “Growth Leading AX Company,” with an advertisement created using only artificial intelligence (AI).

The company said its new slogan focuses on digital transformation (DX) using AI to drive the values that younger customers enjoy most, and the biggest buzzword for business-to-business (B2B) customers, which is growth.

The advertisement signals LG Uplus’ leap to an AX company, and was produced using various AI programs, including LG Uplus’ AI technology called ‘ixi,’ without any shooting equipment, models, or space recruitment.

Using over 8,300 sources and 200,000 frames generated by AI, the advertisement depicted technologies such as autonomous driving, smart cities, and quantum-resistant encryption that are difficult to visualize directly using video shooting alone.

Unique effects achievable only through AI are also noteworthy. Effects like the “Morphing Effect,” which smoothly transitions a child into an adult or build a building into a cityscape, and the “Glitch Effect,” which simulates glitchy visuals and sound effects, were expressed using AI. LG Uplus said that the advertisement, produced using 3D animation, reduced costs and production time by 40 percent and 70 percent respectively compared to traditional methods.

To celebrate the launch of the advertisement, the company will host an event on its official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/lguplus) until June 9th, 2024, with various prizes for those who correctly interpret the meaning of the new slogan.
