Following Samsung Electronic Co.‘s launch of the Galaxy S24 series, with real-time interpretation for personal use, in January 2024, South Korean companies are now introducing AI-driven translation and interpretation solutions for enterprise customers.

These enterprise-level solutions are versatile and range from assisting tourists to enabling multilingual video conferences. According to sources on Monday, SK telecom launched an AI simultaneous interpretation solution named Trans Talker in April 2024. The mobile telco is currently in discussions with various new clients after the service was initially installed at Lotte Department Store. Trans Talker leverages a voice recognition algorithm to support bidirectional simultaneous interpretation in 13 languages, including English, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic, to give foreign shoppers a helping hand at the department store.

LG CNS recently introduced Orelo, a multi-translation solution for video conferences that can simultaneously interpret three or more languages. If a Korean speaker speaks in Korean, for example, the system can provide real-time translations in multiple languages as per the participants’ preferences.

AI solution company Flitto launched a multilingual simultaneous interpretation solution for conferences in January 2024. When a speaker uses the Flitto app during a conference, it detects the sound and displays the translated text on the audience‘s individual devices.
