Yuina of Candy Shop will pause group activities due to health issues less than two months after debuting as a member of the rookie girl group, her agency Brave Entertainment said Thursday.
Candy Shop will add a new member and continue its activities as a four-member girl group.
“After much deliberation, it was decided that Yuina will temporarily suspend activities in line with the artist’s wishes,” said the agency's press release. “Yuina will not participate in the future scheduled activities.”
Candy Shop made its official debut with members Soram, Sui, Sarang and Yuina on March 27 with its first EP, “Hashtag#.” Yuina is Japanese, while the other three members are Korean.
The group’s name comes from its aim of catering to listeners’ needs, much like the diverse selection of candies offered at a candy shop, according to Brave Entertainment.
The agency did not share any details on the group’s new member.
