SSG.com launches winter padding sale

SSG.com, the e-commerce arm of Shinsegae Group, is holding a two-week-long Outdoor Off-season Grand Sale event at Shinsegae Department Store Mall until May 19.

During this event, SSG.com will offer discounts of up to 70 percent on popular outdoor apparel.

The event first applies discounts to three brands – Kolon Sports, K2, and Nepa until May 12. Kolon Sports Antarctica Long is offered at a 30 percent discount, K2 Thin Air Hoodie at a 70 percent discount, and Nepa Arte padding at a 50 percent discount.

Starting May 13, discounts will begin on Black Yak and National Geographic products. The Black Yak Courtney down jacket will be sold at a special price of around 90,000 won, and the National Geographic Golden Mall short padding hoodie down will be offered at a 30 percent discount.

SSG.com said that it prepared this event in response to the steadily increasing demand for so-called reverse season shopping, which involves purchasing expensive winter coats in advance in spring and summer.

Last month, SSG.com outdoor padding sales nearly doubled compared to the same month last year.
