Boy band Seventeen's latest compilation album "17 is Right Here" sold 3 million copies within the first week of release, the highest sales figure of its kind, according to market tracker Hanteo Chart.

Seventeen's "17 is Right Here," an album compiling 28 lead tracks from all the band's past albums, as well as four new tracks, sold 2,967,937 copies since its release on April 29, Hanteo Chart said Monday.

The sales figure is the highest for a K-pop compilation album, which usually sells less than a full-length album filled with all new songs.

The album also sits atop the Japanese daily album rankings chart by Oricon for the fifth consecutive day and at No. 1 of the Line Music's top 100 albums chart as of Sunday.

"Maestro," the lead track of "17 is Right Here," sits high on local streaming charts including Melon, Genie and Bugs and at No. 1 on iTunes' Worldwide Song Chart.

Seventeen is set to perform in Osaka on May 18 and 19 and in Kanagawa on May 25 and 26 for its "'Follow' Again" world tour.
