KAIST will house an AI research lab jointly run by Intel, Naver and the science and technology research university to develop AI semiconductors and software that support the advanced chip range.
The three parties signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday for the establishment and operation of the NIK AI Research Center, which will be located on KAIST's campus in Daejeon by the first half of this year.
In the first two years, the center will focus on developing an ecosystem for Intel's Gaudi processor while carrying out dozens of joint projects among industry players and the government.
