KT, a major mobile carrier in Korea, will release an AI feature in the latter half of the year that can generate hyper-personalized content, allowing users to see collections of clips featuring their favorite scenes or people.
The company's "AI Selection" feature will allow users to pick certain individuals, songs or dancing clips, and then show scenes consisting of only the designated topics.
For instance, if a user wants to see only scenes featuring the Oksoon character from the popular dating reality show “I’m Solo,” a collection of scenes will pop up at the bottom of the screen as a set of thumbnail images, as shown in a mockup at KT’s press event on Monday at the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun, central Seoul.
AI features will be adapted by KT’s subsidiary Millie, an e-book subscription service provider, sometime next month. A feature known as “AI Object Books” can be used to extract core keywords from e-books and summarize their content. KT’s AI audio feature can also play background music generated by music streaming service Genie Music while providing its e-book audio summaries.
The telecom company also plans to release on-device AI to its set-top box in the fourth quarter of this year, consisting of a variety of features tailored for user convenience. Details of its functions will be released later.
