South Korea’s Hanwha Q CELLS announced on Wednesday that it secured a turnkey contract for 450 megawatts (MW) of solar power in the United States.

Under the contract, Hanwha Q CELLS, along with its subsidiary Enable, will be responsible for supplying solar modules to solar power plants in the United States for the next two years. The duo will also provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.

The contract was signed between Hanwha Q CELLS’ commercial solar EPC subsidiary, Enable, and the U.S. investment fund TGC. Under the agreement, Hanwha Q CELLS will supply 450 MW of modules for solar power projects initiated by TGC in the United States, while Enable will handle the EPC for the power plants.

Hanwha Q CELLS CEO Lee Koo-yung expressed confidence in the company’s strategy to diversify into non-manufacturing sectors, saying, “Our strategy to diversify into non-manufacturing sectors is yielding results. We will continue to seize business opportunities in the renewable energy sector and accelerate our growth.”
