Queen of Belgium attends World Cocoa Conference 2024

Climate change in West Africa, where most of the world's cocoa comes from, causes a global shortage and drives up prices as harvests are expected to fall short for a third year in a row. According to the UN, cocoa bean prices have skyrocketed as the price per ton on the futures market crossed $10,000 for the first time ever on 26 March.
