Former Korean national team manager Guus Hiddink speaks during a visit to the Korea National Football Centre, currently under construction, in Cheonan, South Chungcheong on Sunday.
The construction for the new National Football Centre started in April 2022 and is scheduled to be complete by the first half of 2025.
Hiddink, 77, took charge of the Korean national team in 2001 and led the team to the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup for the very first time.
That finish remains Korea’s best finish at the World Cup.
The Cheonan Complex will also house the new Korea Football Hall of Fame.
