From April 6 to June 30:Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul in Jung District, central Seoul, announced Wednesday that it will collaborate with the hotel brand’s flagship property in Phuket to offer an eclectic menu of authentic Thai food.
Dubbed the Saffron X Granum Weekend Table, the promotion, starting April 6, invites Tipaporn Phianthon, head chef of modern Thai restaurant Saffron at Banyan Tree Phuket, to Seoul Banyan’s all-day dining restaurant, the Granum Dining Lounge, on the occasion of the Banyan Group's 30th anniversary.
The buffet station features over 20 Thai dishes, including mango spring rolls, grapefruit salad yam som o, crispy fried pork with basil, stir-fried shrimp and vegetables in spices tom yum kung, coconut-flavored clam soup and chicken satay. It also offers Granum-style dishes such as beef involtini, Romesco-style lamb ribs, and baccalà and chorizo. For the main course, rice crackers with three dips, lobster curry with three-coloured rice and spicy Thai papaya salad som tam will be served. Desserts include earl grey crème brûlée, mango sticky rice and seasonal fruits. Welcome drinks — coffee or tea — will be provided, and adult guests can enjoy unlimited servings of refreshing Singha beer from Thailand.
To commemorate the Thai chef-invited promotion, there will be a collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Seoul Office offering buffet meal vouchers and Thai coffee drip bags and honey sets as gifts through an online pre-event.
Saffron first opened in Banyan Tree Phuket in 1995, showcasing traditional Thai flavors in a modern way as the signature restaurant of the Banyan Tree brand. It presents a variety of dishes from different regions of Thailand, maintaining traditional recipes with a touch of modern elegance. Currently, Saffron can be found in 12 cities where Banyan Tree hotels are located, including Phuket, Bangkok, Krabi, Samui, Lang Co and Macau.
"This year signifies a significant milestone for Banyan Tree, a renowned global resort brand that originated in Phuket, Thailand,” Jo Sung-ho, the executive chef of Banyan Tree Seoul, said. “We aspire for this promotion to offer guests who appreciate both Banyan Tree hotels and Thai cuisine a chance to embark on a culinary journey through Thailand."
Saffron X Granum Weekend Table will be available as a buffet every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from April 6 to June 30. Lunch will be served from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner will be available from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The price is 149,000 won for adults and 79,000 won for children, including 10 percent VAT. 02 2250 8000banyantree.com/south-korea/club-and-spa-seoul/
