BabyMonster's upcoming album "BABYMONS7ER" will mark the group's "true debut," according to YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.
Yang, the group's chief producer, listed the EP’s tracklist and introduced the seven tracks individually in a video uploaded to YG Entertainment’s blog at midnight on Sunday.
Yang's remark refers to the group's final roundup of seven members to include returning member Ahyeon. Until now, BabyMonster had performed exclusively as a six-member group.
The EP includes the lead track “Sheesh,” described as a hip-hop song with a “dark concept" according to Yang.
“It has a strong hook […] and a fun and addictive choreography,” he said.
U.S. producer and singer-songwriter Charlie Puth produced “Like That,” the third song on the list. This is the producer’s second production with a K-pop artist, his first being the collaborative single “Left and Right” with BTS’s Jungkook.
The EP also includes rerecorded versions of the group’s debut digital single “Batter Up” and “Stuck in The Middle” to feature Ahyeon’s vocals; and “Monsters (Intro).”
BabyMonster debuted on Nov. 27, 2023, under YG Entertainment with “Batter Up.” The group now consists of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora, Chiquita and Ahyeon.
“A variety of events and performances from the groups are being considered,” Yang said on the group’s comeback.
The group will hold fan meet and greets in Tokyo, Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei and Bangkok as part of its first "See You There" fan concert tour, YG Entertainment said Monday. No dates have been released yet.
The group is also slated to perform at Japan’s Summer Sonic music festival in August.
