HiteJinro launches new soju product ‘Jinro Gold’

HiteJinro announced the launch of a new soju product called Jinro Gold, with an alcohol content of 15.5 percent, on Friday.

The zero-sugar soju is crafted from 100 percent rice distillate for a smooth and mellow taste. To achieve a gentle and comfortable drinking experience, the alcohol content is set at 15.5 percent, the company said.

The current Jinro Gold product, which is sold as a product with 25 percent alcohol content, has been rebranded as Jinro 25 with the introduction of the new product. The new Jinro Gold will be available in 360ml bottles and will be available for sale through various dining and supermarket channels nationwide after its official release on March 21st, 2024.

HiteJinro said that it planned the new product in response to the trend towards lower-alcohol beverages. The company also said it aims to establish Jinro Gold as a leading brand in the soju market alongside Chamisul and Jinro, further solidifying its name.

The retail price of Jinro Gold will be the same as that of Jinro and, the company plans to open pop-up stores in Seoul and Busan in April 2024 to promote the new product.
