[WT논평] Much of science has been hijacked (2)

A political cartoon in The Washington Post shows Joe Biden pasting up several executive orders to cover up the word BIGOTRY.

The orders include lifting the military’s ban on transgender behavior and forcing schools to allow opposite-sex students into restrooms, locker rooms and sports teams. “Science” in action.

Like the term “racist,” the charge of “bigotry” ends all discussion. It implies that an opponent’s views are not only wrong but that anyone who holds them must be silenced.

Herbert Marcuse, the Marxist theorist from the Frankfurt School, called this “repressive tolerance.” It’s what the Big Tech companies are now doing every day to conservatives.

It’s also the stance taken by the “science” crowd that insists, against all evidence, that babies in the womb aren’t human and can be “terminated” at any developmental stage up to birth. Anyone who says otherwise hates women.

Because scientific proof of the uniqueness of each human being from conception is so overwhelming, new terms were deployed to distort the truth. Killing became “abortion care,” “reproductive health” or “choice.”

Similarly, the clearly revealed sex of babies via ultrasound must be ignored to facilitate the lie that gender’s not natural but rather “assigned at birth” and subject to change.

So, now we’re at a point where basic biology is verboten. But it could get worse if we don’t see a major pushback. The Biden administration is considering the formation of a “cross-agency” Truth Commission, run by a “reality czar.”

The purpose would be to stamp out a free exchange of views and impose their version of “the truth,” which apparently will involve fake science.

워싱턴포스트에 실린 한 정치 만평은 조 바이든이 심한 편견이란 단어를 가리기 위해서 몇 건의 행정명령을 붙이는 모습을 보여준다.
 
행정명령 가운데는 트랜스젠더 행위에 대한 군대의 금지를 해제하고 학교에서 남녀 학생들이 화장실과 라커룸 및 스포츠 팀에 함께 들어가는 것을 허용하도록 강요하는 명령이 포함된다. “과학”의 시행이다.
 
“인종차별주의자”란 용어처럼 “심한 편견”이란 비난은 모든 토론에 종지부를 찍는다. 그것은, 상대방의 견해가 틀렸을 뿐만 아니라 그런 견해를 지닌 모든 사람을 침묵시켜야 한다는 것을 암시한다.
 
프랑크푸르트학파의 마르크스주의 이론가인 허버트 마르쿠제는 이것을 “억압적 관용”이라고 불렀다. 그것은 대형 기술 회사들이 오늘날 보수주의자들에게 매일 하는 짓이다.
 
그것은 또한 모든 증거에도 불구하고 자궁 속의 아기들이 인간이 아니며 출생에 이르는 어떤 발달 단계에서든 “종료될” 수 있다고 주장하는 “과학” 집단이 취하는 자세이기도 하다. 반대 의견을 말하는 모든 사람은 여자들을 미워하는 인간이다.
 
임신부터 개별 인간이 유일무이하다는 과학적인 증거가 너무나 압도적이기 때문에 진실을 왜곡하기 위해서 새로운 용어들이 효율적으로 사용되었다. 살해는 “낙태 치료”나 “생식 보건” 혹은 “선택”이 되었다.
 
이와 비슷하게, 성별은 자연적인 것이 아니라 “출생 때 부여되는 것”으로 변화시킬 수 있다는 거짓말을 가능토록 하기 위해 초음파를 통해서 분명하게 드러난 아기들의 성별은 무시되어야 한다.
 
그리하여 오늘날 우리는 기본적인 생물학이 금지된 시점에 처해 있다. 그러나 만약 우리가 대대적인 반격을 하지 않을 경우 상황은 더욱 나빠질 수 있다. 바이든 행정부는 “진실 독재자”가 운영하는 “정부 간” 진실 위원회의 구성을 고려하고 있다.
 
의견의 자유로운 교환을 근절하고, 가짜 과학을 개입시킬 것이 분명한 자기네 판 “진실”을 강요하는 것이 목적일 것이다.
