PTI founder Imran Khan nominates Omar Ayub as PM candidate of party

Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser and a leader of Khan's party Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on 15 February 2024 that Khan has nominated the party's secretary general Omer Ayub as the candidate for prime minister and called for engagement with other political parties, including the JUI-F, protesting the Febuary 08 election results. Qaiser made the announcement after meeting with Imran in Adiala Jail. The PTI is currently weighing its options for post-election alliances, having already decided to ally with the Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen in the Centre and Punjab. The PTI plans to protest against the election across the country and its parliamentary session will be called in the coming days. EPA/T.MUGHAL
