Naver Webtoon and global game publisher Ubisoft are collaborating to release the “Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple” webtoon on the web comic platform from April 24.
The webtoon will be released in five languages: Korean, English, Indonesian, Japanese and French.
The story will cover the events of Ubisoft’s video game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The pirate-turned-assassin Edward Kenway embarks on a new quest in the sea of southeast Asia. Kenway will also meet Noa, his Korean-American descendent living in the contemporary time who is searching for clues to her family’s lost history.
Webtoon and content studio Redice Studio took helm of the webtoon.
“We are very happy to collaborate with Ubisoft and expand its universe to reach viewers worldwide,” said Lee Shin-ok, the head of Naver Webtoon America. “We are happy to showcase such an outstanding intellectual property not only to fans of the Assassin Creed series but also to viewers of Naver Webtoon.”
