GM Korea Co. has closed main Changwon and Bupyeong 2nd plants since last week after subcontractor Erae AMS refused to supply parts for assembly of vehicles unless it is paid higher for products. Last year, the Changwon plant produced 30,000 units of Spark, and the Bupyeong 2nd plant 40,000 units of Malibu and Trax.
