Endangered Knysna Seahorse

Seahorses have lived in the oceans for about 40 million years. There are 30 to 40 different kinds of seahorses with only five of these found around the southern African coastline. The Knysna seahorse is the best known and is the only seahorse that is endangered. Every year about 20 million seahorses are caught around the world for medical use or to be sold as curios.
