LG Electronics Inc., South Korea’s leading consumer electronics manufacturer, said on Wednesday it will start selling its newest Minibeam projector with wireless connectivity from early next month.

According to the company, its latest PH550 model enables the user to wirelessly connect the projector with various sound systems such as portable speakers, headphones and home theaters that offer Bluetooth connection. The projector can also be connected to information technology (IT) devices such as smartphones and laptops using Miracast and Wireless Display (WiDi) technology. The latest model also supports HDMI, USB, and MHL cable connections.

According to the company, the product is loaded with a built-in battery that lasts for up to 2.5 hours once charged, which is enough time to enjoy one movie.

The PH550 Minibeam projector is portable as it is small in size - 174mm x 110 mm x 44 mm. In addition, the projector has an HD resolution of 1280 x 720, up to 550 lumens and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio.

LG Electronics said that the projector offers consumers the chance to watch projected images in crystal clear quality not only indoors but also outdoors. The projector also has an auto keystone correction function that adjusts the image to the center of the screen. The PH550 model is priced at 650,000 won ($540.2).
