Fashion Fringe 우승자들이 디자인하고, Kin이 만든 이 혁신적인 스커트는 루미아 1520이 캡처하는 정적인 사진이나 스커트를 장식하는 80개 스크린에 공급되는 라이브 피드를 사용한다. 이로 인해 착용자 및 착용한 날에 따라 변화를 거듭한다.

스커트가 움직임에 따라 스크린에 뜨는 이미지들의 색이 변하기 때문에, 실제 섬유의 진짜 같은 촉각적 특성을 시뮬레이션하는 반짝임 효과를 연출한다. 이 효과가 가능한 것은 모델 움직임에 따라 반짝이는 효과가 나오도록 전 지구적 위치 확인을 이용하는 특별히 개발된 앱을 적용했기 때문이다. 이는 동종 최초의 스커트로 여겨진다.

노키아 브랜드 실험실의 Annie Kearney는 "이 독특한 프로젝트는 스마트 기술과 패션의 결합 가능성을 탐색하고, 아름답게 디자인된 노키아 루미아 1520을 이용해 뭔가 특별한 것을 만들어내는 새로운 인재들을 지원하는 것을 목적으로 한다"고 말했다.

Kin은 이 스커트를 만들기 위해 Python 및 C# 같은 여러 소프트웨어와 쌍방향 작업을 했다. 초기 도면은 Fyodor Golan과 함께 작성했다. 그다음에는 초기 디자인을 발전시키기 위해 3D 인쇄 및 레이저 절단 같은 엔지니어링 도구와 신속한 프로토타이핑 도구를 이용했다.

Fyodor는 새 컬렉션 및 노키아와의 협력 작업과 관련해 "이번 A/W 14 시즌에서는 기술에 대비하여 전통을 가지고 작업했다"며 "우리는 중력의 영향을 받지 않는 거의 모든 것을 만들 수 있다고 믿고 있다. 스커트가 움직임에 따라 색이 변한다. 사진과 영상을 통해 주변 환경에 반응하는 스크린을 만든 것은 지금까지 보지 못했던 작업"이라고 언급했다.

Designers Fyodor Golan Combine Nokia Smartphones to Make a Super Smart Skirt That Changes Around You

LONDON, February 14, 2014/PRNewswire/ -- Nokia has partnered with exciting design duo, Fyodor Golan, for London Fashion Week, to create the world's first interactive skirt made up of Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphones.

The innovative skirt was designed by the Fashion Fringe winners and created by Kin and uses static pictures captured by the phone, or live feeds on the 80 screens that adorn it - allowing it to change around the wearer and their day.

Images on the screens change colour as the skirt moves, creating a shimmer effect simulating the realistic tactile character of actual fabric. This is achieved through a purpose built app that utilises global positioning, to ensure the shimmer happens in line with the models movement. It is believed that this is the first time a skirt of this kind has been created.

Annie Kearney, Nokia Brand Lab, said: "This unique project is about exploring the possibilities of smart technology and fashion coming together, as well as supporting new talent to create something special using the beautifully designed Nokia Lumia 1520."

To build the skirt, Kin worked interactively with a combination of software such as Python and C#. Initial drawings were sketched along side Fyodor Golan. The sketches were then developed using engineering tools and rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting to evolve the initial design.

Of their new collection and working with Nokia, Fyodor said: "This A/W 14 season we toyed with tradition against technology. We believe that you can create almost anything that isn't influenced by gravity. The colour changes as the skirt moves and the idea of making the screens react to the word around it via photographs and video is something that we do not think has been done before."

Speaking of their experience creating this skirt, Matt Wade from Kin said: "This is exciting new territory that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in fashion, designing and programming."
