Although the latest figures from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) shows that the number of refugees arriving in Dadaab in August was slightly less than in July, the number continues to be as high as 1,200 per day. On 05 September 2011, the United Nations declared a famine in another region of Somalia. The country's Southern Bay region is now the sixth areas to be in famine.
