Pantech Unveils 'Vega Racer' Fastest Smartphone on Earth

Pantech, South Korea's No.2 mobile phone maker will unveil a strategic smartphone featuring the fastest speed on earth.

Pantech held a press conference at its headquarters in Seoul on Thursday to unmask the company's first dual-core smartphone the 'Vega Racer.' The Vega Racer, adopting Qualcomm's mighty 1.5GHz dual-core processor (MSM8260), operates at the fastest rate on earth.

"Owing to the upgrade in the main processor, the Vega Racer has a 60% greater performance capacity than the previous version Vega S, and its power efficiency has increased by 30%," Pantech explained.

Supporting the high performance, 1GB DDR2 Ram has been adopted to enhance the multitasking function.

The Vega Racer runs on Android version 2.3 and is equipped with a high-quality user interface (UI).

Pantech's new smartphone will be launched through SK Telecom and KT in late May, and then with LG Uplus later.

"We will keep the runner-up position in the domestic handset market by winning the premium smartphone race in the second half of the year with the Vega Race," Lim Sung-jae, Managing Director of Overseas Marketing at Pantech said.
