The Embassy of India and the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea are jointly organizing the "Forum on India-Korea IT Partnership for Global Success" on March 14.

The forum, which will be held at the Seoul Millennium Hilton, will start at 2 p.m., and invitations are required.

India is a global leader in Information Technology and is the world's 4th largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity.

On the other hand, South Korea's has rapidly risen to become the 12th largest economy by purchasing power parity.

The two countries have expanded their economic engagement with bilateral trade reaching $17 billion and investments of about $4 billion last year.

However, the two economies have not yet fully explored the potential of combining Indian IT solutions with the Korean industrial and general economic advancement, the embassy said.

The IT Forum will attempt to address this topic and focus on important components of IT services including BPOs; design, engineering and manufacturing, banking and financial services; information communications and telecommunications; and IT applications to public services by the government sector.

Experts in the field from global Indian IT companies will address the Forum, including Som Mittal, the president of the National Association of Software and Service Companies of India.

Indian Ambassador Skand R. Tayal will talk about business opportunities between India and Korea and about their rapidly expanding bilateral relationship.
