Revised re-entry permits for foreigners
Local ministries have informed embassies about the exemptions regarding re-entry permits for foreign nationals upon arrival and departure from South Korea.
According to the Korea Immigration Service, the re-entry permit system has been revised for greater convenience for foreign residents in Korea.
Foreign residents with valid passports and alien registration cards are free to enter and depart Korea without a re-entry permit for one year within the permitted period of stay listed on their visa.
If the period of stay is less than one year, the exemption is valid for the duration of the period of stay.
In the case of permanent residents (F-5 visa-holders), their exemption will remain valid for two years after their departure date.
The exemption on re-entry permits has already taken effect.
