S. Korea, China and Japan to Fight Back Facebook

South Korea, China and Japan jointly erected a barricade in order to fight back Facebook, the world's largest social networking service (SNS). Their plan is to secure as many social applications as Facebook does and attract users to defend the Asian SNS market.

SK Communications, operator of Korea's most popular SNS Cyworld signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japan's largest SNS Mixi to cooperate with each other to make their social game App Stores - 'Nate App Store' and 'Mixi Appli' - compatible.

Simply put, social games registered in Nate App Store can be played immediately in Mixi Appli just with local settings. As of yet, the two companies need to develop games exclusively adjusted to their separate program settings.

Mixi made an agreement with the largest Chinese SNS Renrenm which holds the same content as it had with SK Comms. Revolving around Mixi, the number one SNS providers of the three big Asian countries have created a joint battle ground of social game.

SK Comms is also in the process of discussing partnership with Renren, raising the possibility of forming three-party partnership. Their common goal is to confront the world's No.1 SNS Facebook.

The three SNS providers of Asia plan to make their App Stores have a larger number of social games and defend the local SNS market.
