[비즈니스 유머] 잘못된 선택

The train was very crowded, so the American soldier walked down to the end of the train, looking for an empty seat. The only unoccupied seat was adjacent to well dressed middle aged lady and was being used by her little dog. The weary soldier asked, "Please, ma'am, may I sit in that seat?" The French woman said, "No, it was already taken." The soldier had another trip, but failed to find the empty seat.

Again he asked, but the woman just snorted. The soldier picked up the little dog, tossed it out the window and sat down. The woman shrieked and demanded that someone chastise the soldier. An English man sitting across the aisle spoke up, "You Americans do seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You're holding the fork in the wrong hand. You drive autos on the wrong side, and now, you've thrown the wrong bitch out of the window."

기차가 매우 붐빈 탓에 미국 군인이 빈 자리를 찾기 위해 기차 끝까지 걸어가야 했다. 유일하게 남은 자리는 잘 차려 입은 중년 여성의 옆 자리로, 강아지가 앉아 있었다. 지친 남자가 "부인, 제가 자리에 좀 앉아도 될까요?"라고 물었다. 그러자 이 프랑스 여성은 "안되죠. 이미 임자가 있잖아요."라고 말했다.

병사가 한 번 더 기차를 돌았지만 빈 좌석을 찾을 수 없었다. 그가 다시 요청했지만 그녀는 콧방귀만 뀌었다. 병사는 작은 개를 들어올리더니 창 밖으로 던져버린 뒤 자리에 앉았다. 여자는 그를 벌해 달라며 비명을 질렀다. 그러자 맞은편 통로 좌석에 앉아있던 한 영국 남성이 말했다. "미국인들은 언제나 잘못을 저지르지요. 포크도 틀리게 사용하고, 자동차도 꺼꾸로 몰더니 이젠 창 밖으로 던질 XX조차 잘 못 고르는군요."
