KBO All-Star game tickets go on sale

The Korean Baseball League all-star game tickets go on sale Wednesday at 1 p.m. This year Samsung Lion's Daegu Stadium, which seats around 10,000, will host the mid-summer highlight for local ballpark-goers on July 24.

Around 7,000 tickets will be on sale at online auction site www.gmarket.co.kr and also through thee Korea Baseball Organization at 1566-5702.

Tickets are 6,000 won for general admission, 12,000 won for an infield table seat and 20,000 won for an outfield table seat. Private tables for two persons are available for 40,000 won.

As of Sunday, Lotte Giant's Hong Sung-heon is leading the fan voting for the all-star game. The Giant's slugger drew 697,494 votes to hold the lead as the designated hitter for the all-stars, followed by his club-mate outfielder Karim Garcia with 667,104 votes.

Kia Tigers' Choi Hee-seop won 650,061 votes to stand at the top of the first baseman vote and Ryu Hyun-jin of Hanwha Eagles won 643,434 votes, leading the pitcher position.

So far, the Busan-based Lotte Giants have claimed eight players, including infielder Park Ki-hyuk and second baseman Cho Sung-hwan, at the all-star balloting.

More than 1.32 million votes have been cast since the all-star balloting opened on June 1. Duplicate votes are allowed, but fans can vote only once a day. The all-star fan balloting will close on July 11 and the final squad for 2010 All-star game will be announced on July 12, the KBO said.
